How it works
A single outdoor unit connects to several indoor units, which can be wall-mounted, cassettes or ducted, or a mix. Each room has its own controls, so you only cool or heat the rooms in use.
Best for
- Small offices with several rooms
- Clinics and salons with treatment rooms
- Homes cooling two to four bedrooms
- Sites with limited space outside
Things to consider
- Usually limited to about five indoor units
- If the outdoor unit fails, all rooms are affected
- Longer pipe runs need planning
